Welcome to our page on the Worawa Aboriginal College at Healesville Victoria.
Worawa, the Yorta Yorta name for the eagle means Great Creator and Sustaining Spirit.
Although Worawa is built on Wurundjeri land, the founder, Hyllus Noel Maris and her family belong to the Yorta Yorta people in the Barmah region, therefore the Yorta Yorta language is taught as Lote.
The aims of Worawa can be read in these pages. The key aim being to encourage young people of Aboriginal descent to equip themselves in a whole of life approach which includes the learning and carrying forward of the rich and cherished heritage handed down to them by their ancestors.
We hope this section of our site informs you and you enjoy with us, the many celebrations documented in our photo Gallery.
